Rock Windows, Soaring Fins and Looming Arches

One of many arches in the park
We are off to hike Arches National Park. There are rock windows, soaring red rock fins, and, of course, golden arches of a different kind. We hike the trails. The kids climb the rocks and try to get as high in each arch or rocky ledge as they can. They like to make their mother sweat. The oldest likes to climb high to take pictures from different angles. The youngest likes to climb high to squeeze into any sandstone caves. He is upset if no one will help him go higher. The 3rd child will go everywhere and cover more ground than us all. Where is he? Who knows! And the 2nd child will climb too but also look after the youngest and his mother! It's like one never-ending field trip; we count heads before we pull out in the van after each stop. No one has been left behind yet.
